Atwater: Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Area Community Police Station Explorer Program will host a bake sale fundraiser in order to raise needed funds for badly needed anti-ballistic vests for the Department's K-9 dogs. LAPD has 16 dogs that are used for searches in the field and anti-ballistic vests would allow these brave animals to conduct their searches minimizing the dangers of serious injury or death to which they are exposed on a daily basis.

.A member of the LAPD K9 unit will be present at the event and available to provide information.

This media advisory was prepared by Public Information Officer Guillermo Campos Media Relations Section, 213-485-3586.
