Fatal Traffic Accident Investigation


 

Los Angeles: On August 17, 2002, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a 1988 Buick La Sabre was traveling northbound Broadway, at 34th Street, when the car ran off the roadway and collided with a lamp standard and power pole.

Pablo Muñoz, a 17 year-old resident of Los Angeles, died at the scene as a result of head trauma.

Miguel Pedroza, 18 years of age, and Omar Torralba, 28 years of age, both residents of Los Angeles, sustained head trauma and were transported to USC Medical Center, where they remain hospitalized.

It is unknown who was the driver of the vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

Central Traffic Division Detective Josephine Mapson and Officer Richard Leushner assumed responsibility for the investigation.
