30 Year-Old Man Shot and Killed; His Car Taken

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at about 12:30 a.m., North Hollywood Area patrol officers responded to a "Shots Fired" radio call in the 12300 block of Huston Street. Upon arrival, the officers discovered the victim, 30 year-old Eugenio Cruz, lying in the street. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to his head. His vehicle, a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro convertible, California license #3WFD202, has not been located. The car is black in color with a tan top. Eugenio lived with his wife and three children in Sun Valley.

The motive for this killing has not been determined.
