Los Angeles: On Thursday, August 14, 2003, at about 5:50 a.m., a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision occurred on Fletcher Drive between Avenue 32 and Delay Drive. Pui Ying Wong, a 78 year-old resident of Los Angeles, was crossing the street west-bound, outside of the crosswalk, on Fletcher Drive when she was struck by a 1992 Ford Escort. The vehicle was being driven by 43 year-old Miguel Angel Perez-Ramirez of Los Angeles.

Mrs. Wong was transported to LAC-USC Medical Center by Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics, where she later died as a result of her injuries.

The investigation is on-going and is being conducted by Central Traffic Division Detectives.
