LAPD Recruit Class to Graduate

What: Los Angeles Police Academy Graduation

When: Friday, August 22, 2003, at 9:00 a.m.

Where: Los Angeles Police Academy, Elysian Park, 1880 North Academy Drive, Los Angeles

Los Angeles : The Los Angeles Police Department proudly announces that it will graduate a new class of police recruits at an open ceremony that will take place at the historic Elysian Park Police Academy. The new officers will have completed 1,064 hours of training over the course of 28 weeks.

The graduating class of 41 recruits (37 males and 4 females) will become probationary officers to be assigned at LAPD Divisions throughout Los Angeles.

It is anticipated that over 500 guests will attend the ceremony. Chief William J. Bratton will inspect the class. Representatives from the Mayor’s office and the Board of Police Commission will be in attendance as well as their special guests and other dignitaries.
