Los Angeles : Southeast Area Homicide Detectives are
investigating the murder of 17 year-old Veronica Lujano.
On April 18, 2003, the body of Veronica Lujano was discovered in the
alley to the rear of 9808 South Central Avenue. The subsequent investigation
by the detectives revealed that Ms. Lujano attended a party on the night
before her death. Her body was discovered shot to death and then burned,
presumably to destroy any evidence and the hopes of identifying her remains.
The detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating any
individuals that may have attended the same party and the individuals that
drove Ms. Lujano from the party. Information received thus far indicates the
party was in a residence in the area of Florence Avenue and Central Avenue.
A photograph of the victim will be available to the media. The victim’s
immediate family members will also be in attendance to plead for assistance.
