Safe Return To School Taskforce

The Safe Return to School Taskforce

Arlington Heights Elementary School
1717 7th Avenue (on the east side of the campus)

Los Angeles: On Tuesday September 2, 2003, the annual "Safe Return to School Taskforce" will begin in Operations West Bureau. West Traffic Division will kick off the weeklong event with a press conference at Arlington Heights Elementary School.

Deputy Chief Cayler L. Carter, Commanding Officer of Operations West Bureau and Chief Alan Kerstein of the Los Angeles School Police Department and will discuss pedestrian and vehicle safety issues regarding children returning to school.

The purpose of this event is to inform both students and parents of the importance of being aware of personal safety issues regarding children returning to school. Captain Bill Williams will also discuss with parents what they should tell their children if they are afraid for their safety walking to and from school.
