High School Students Arrested for Sexual Assault

 

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Area Detectives have arrested three students from Fairfax High School for the sexual assault of a 15 year-old female student.

The attack occurred at the campus on August 2, 2004, in the late afternoon. The victim was attending an evening class and went into a school bathroom. Four suspects, who are all 16 years of age, followed the victim to the bathroom and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Hollywood Area Detectives are investing the incident and are working closely with the Los Angeles Unified School District Police and the Fairfax High School officials. As a result, the detectives have been able to identify four suspects.

On August 10, 2004, the detectives arrested two of the four suspects at the school. On the same day, one of the two outstanding suspects turned himself into police, accompanied by his parent. The fourth suspect, has retained counsel and through counsel has indicated he will turn himself into Eastlake Juvenile Hall.

All three arrested suspects are being held at the Eastlake Juvenile Hall. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has charged the suspects with one count each of rape in concert.
