Men Wearing Police Uniform Commit Robbery

Los Angeles: Two men wearing possible police uniforms committed a robbery in Van Nuys.

On August 5, 2005, at about 10:50 a.m., a street robbery occurred at 16380 Roscoe Boulevard, in the parking lot of a business complex.  The suspects approached an elderly couple on foot.  One of the suspects pushed the woman down to the ground and took her purse.  They fled the scene in a 2005 Mitsubishi sedan, metallic gray or silver in color.

The suspects were described as two male Caucasians with shaved heads, 20/25 years of age.  They were wearing possible tactical vests or black T-shirts with "POLICE" in white lettering.  The woman was shaken up, but was not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Van Nuys Robbery Detectives at 818-756-8371.  On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
