Two Men Shot; One Killed During a Robbery

Los Angeles: Two men were shot on Sunday, August 7, 2005, at about 12:20 a.m. during an apparent robbery.

Mission Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 15200 block of Nordhoff Street, where they found two Hispanic men with gunshot wounds.  Both men were taken to a local hospital for treatment, but unfortunately one of the men died on Monday, August 8, 2005.  The other man is listed in stable condition.

The deceased victim has been identified as 38 year-old Roberto Iberri of San Bernardino.  The other victim is a 38 year-old Hispanic and a resident of North Hills.

Witnesses indicated that a male Hispanic, 20-25 years of age, approximately 5’ 3” to 5’ 5” and weighing between 125-150 pound attempted to rob the victims at gunpoint.  The lone suspect then shot both victims and fled in a 2000-2002 silver or gray colored vehicle.

Anyone with information is requested to contact Mission Area Homicide Detectives at 818-838-9810.  On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
