Public's Help Needed to Solve Murder

Los Angeles: Police are asking for the public's help in finding any witnesses who may have seen the shooting of 22 year old Hector Cervantes Villasenor, a resident of Los Angeles.

On Friday, August 4, 2006, around 7:15 p.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 5600 block of Lexington Avenue. Officers arrived and found the victim not breathing and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived to render emergency aid. Villasenor failed to respond to medical treatment and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives believe the motive to be narcotics related.

One of the outstanding suspects has been identified as Pedro Solis, 22, a male Hispanic, 5'8", 150 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact Hollywood Homicide Detectives at 213-972-2902 or 213-972-2911. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free Detective Information Desk at 1-877-ASK-LAPD (1-877-529-3855). The identities of callers wishing to remain anonymous will be protected.
