Hit and Run Driver Sought

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a Hit and Run driver.  

On August 30, 2008, at about 1:30 a.m., a 30-year-old man was riding his BMX bicycle westbound on 31st Street at Griffith Street when he was struck by a dark vehicle, possibly a Toyota traveling southbound on Griffith Street.  The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without identifying him/herself and without rendering aid to the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The name of the victim a male adult is being withheld until his family has been notified.  

Anyone with information about the vehicle, or was a witness to the accident is asked to contact Central Traffic Division, Detective Josephine Mapson at 213-972-1825 or the Central Traffic Division Watch Commander at 213-972-1853.  During weekends and off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
