WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department will graduate 42 police officers, with 33 males and 9 females. The ethnic breakdown of the class is as follows: 9 Caucasians, 25 Hispanics, 4 African Americans, 2 Korean and 2 Filipino. Graduating officers have completed 920 hours of training over the course of 24 weeks. Among the graduates are a Los Angeles Port police officer and an airport police officer. Additionally, 10 Reserve officers will graduate with the recruit class.
