Suspect Identified in Lincoln Heights Hot Prowls, Still Sought

Los Angeles: Los Angeles police have a name to match the face of a man suspected in series of hot prowl and sexual assault incidents that occurred two weeks ago in the Lincoln Heights area. The suspect is still at large, and police are seeking the public’s help in capturing him.

Through the use of photographs and forensic evidence, detectives quickly identified Rogelio Galvan, 21, as the suspect who burglarized several homes and sexually assaulted his victims. He is described as Latino. He stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.

The rash of prowls took place on April 26 and 27, 2008, during the late-night and early-morning hours. Galvan entered the homes through a window and fondled his victims while they’re asleep, authorities said.

Over year ago, Galvan was arrested for a similar offense in the same area.

Anyone with additional information or the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact Hollenbeck Division detectives at 323-526-3000. During off-hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
