LAPD Reaches Communities World-wide by Launching Two New Features: www.lapdonline.org in 14 Languages and the New Sports Page

News conference to announce the launch of two new features on www.lapdonline.org: the new LAPD Sports page and links to translate the site into 14 languages.

Why:                
On average, four million pages a month are viewed on www.lapdonline.org.  To better serve the community both locally and world-wide, the LAPD will announce the "point and click" launch to translate more than 14,000 pages of information into 14 languages.

During the news conference, representatives from the Online Unit will also introduce and showcase the website’s new sports page.  LAPD Sports will highlight the accomplishments and stories of Department personnel who excel in sports and features links to upcoming schedules, video highlights, pictures and special events.  

In addition, LAPD Officers who compete off-duty in organized sports or were former professional athletes will be available for interviews.
