Why:
The Los Angeles Police Department's Metropolitan Division K-9 Platoon was contacted by the Jindo Dog Promotion and Innovation Agency to evaluate the Jindo dog breed for law enforcement service, specifically for patrol and detection service.  The testing and evaluation of the Jindo dog breed will occur in South Korea and will take place over a one week period.  Funding for the project was arranged by the Jindo Dog Promotion and Innovation Agency.  

The Jindo dog breed is recognized as the 53rd National Treasure of Korea and is renowned for its loyalty and intelligence. The collaborative Jindo Dog breed evaluation for law enforcement service is the first of its kind in the United States.
