Father of 10-day-old Baby Drives His Truck into a Home Killing His Daughter and Her Mother NR10512SF

Los Angeles:  A family gathering turns deadly after a man drives his vehicle through a bedroom wall, killing his girlfriend and their 10-day-old daughter.

On Sunday, October 31, 2010, around 11:45 p.m., officers responded to a 9-1-1 call where it was reported that a 21-year-old male Hispanic drove his Cadillac Escalade into a single family home located in the 2700 block of Cincinnati Street.  After the vehicle jumped the curb, it crashed through a chain link fence and into the stucco wall of the home.  The suspect’s 19-year-old girlfriend and their 10-day-old baby lived at the location and were in the bedroom at the time of the crash.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the young mother dead at the scene. The baby girl was immediately transported to a local hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. In addition, one other person who also lived at the location, suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect, 21-year-old Eduardo Villarreal remained at the scene and was taken into custody by Los Angeles Police Officers.  Villarreal was transported to a local area hospital for minor injuries that he received during the crash, and will be booked for Murder.

The investigation is being handled by Hollenbeck Area Homicide Detectives.  Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call the detectives at 323-342-8960.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.
