12-Year-Old Boy Missing

Los Angeles:  Rampart Area Detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating Keifer Jacob Farfan who left is house in the 500 block of South Park View Street on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at around 8 a.m., to go to school.

Farfan was headed to John H. Leichty Middle School located in the 600 block of South Union Avenue.  School officials confirmed that Farfan did not attend school on Wednesday, or today, December 2, 2010.

He is a male Hispanic, with brown hair, brown eyes, 5’3” tall, 140 lbs, and was wearing a blue shirt, black pants and blue tennis shoes.

Farfan was in good mental and physical condition when he left for school and it is uncharacteristic of him to be gone for so long without contacting family members.  There have been no signs of foul play.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Farfan is asked to call Rampart Area Missing Persons, Detective Gabriel Rivas at 213-484-3050.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.”  Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
