Thirteen members of the Los Angeles Police Department
WHY:
The Los Angeles Police Department will be conducting a formal promotional ceremony for one Deputy Chief, three Commanders and nine Lieutenants. Captain Regina Scott will be promoted to Commander and is the first African-American woman to be promoted to the rank of Commander in the history of the Department.
NOTE:
A promotional ceremony for Sergeants, Detectives and civilian employees was held on September 8, 2011.
