Detectives Investigating Attempt Sexual Assault in Griffith Park NR14188rh

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department Northeast Area Detectives are investigating an Attempt Sexual Assault, which occurred in the Griffith Park area of Los Angeles.

On May 14, 2014, around 10 a.m., a lone female was hiking in the Griffith Park area when a suspect approached her and attempted to grab her.  The victim pushed the suspect away at which point the suspect began punching the victim. The suspect then attempted to sexually assault her, however, he was unsuccessful due to the victim fighting him off.

The suspect is described as a male, Hispanic, between 30-35 years-old, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds, short brown hair, light complexion and has a mustache. The suspect was wearing a grey polo shirt, blue jeans, brown hiking shoes and was carrying a black backpack.
