As you have all been made well aware, the current Los Angeles Police Department news media press passes expired at the end of 2013.  The media relations staff has finalized the procurement and testing of the new credentialing equipment.  As a result, the redesign of our new media credential is complete, and my staff will begin to facilitate the renewal process effective Monday, May 19, 2014.

The staff at Media Relations will be available to complete your media credential renewal from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.  After hour renewals will be available by appointment only.

Additional:
For all media personnel who do not currently have credentials with the LAPD and wish to initiate the application process, please continue to utilize the existing procedures.  The media press pass policy is available at www.lapdonline.org.
