WHY:    
Since opening in 2004, California Hospital Trauma Center has cared for thousands of patients including police officers in need of critical care.  LAPD SWAT Officer Nelson Fong, who was critically injured in 2014, and LA City Attorney Mike Feuer, who was injured in a severe automobile accident, will speak of their healing experiences at the trauma center.  In an era of when trauma centers are closing, LAPD SWAT personnel will be honoring California Hospital with an award for their consistent and dependable leadership in the field of medical assistance and recovery.
