Attempt Robbery Suspects Sought NR19051ml

Chinatown: Detectives from the
Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division are seeking the
public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the
identification and arrest of three suspects who attempted to rob a
jewelry store.

On February 26, 2019, at approximately 2:50 p.m., two male Black
suspects exited an orange Ford Mustang with paper plates in front
of a jewelry store at the 800 block of North Broadway.

The first suspect was carrying what appered to be a black semi-auto
rifle. The second suspect was carrying a hammer. The owners of the
jewelry store saw the suspects approaching the door and locked the
door. The first suspect attempted to enter the store and upon
realizing the door was locked, turned around and both suspects ran
back to the waiting Ford Mustang.

The vehicle pulled away from the curb and was involved in a traffic
collision with a ride share vehicle, which tried to follow the Ford
Mustang. The ride share vehicle lost sight of the Ford Mustang as
it headed southbound Alameda at Cesar Chavez.

Both suspects were described as male Black, approximately 5 feet 3
inches tall, approximately 150 pounds, in their 20s.
