LAPD “Threat Readiness” Exercise NR19287dm

October 22, 2019

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, October 22, 2019, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Counter-Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau completed a two-day exercise to test its capabilities in a variety of different scenarios involving suspects planning a mass attack. The exercise involved three different sites in the City of Los Angeles: The Grove, the Westfield Century Mall, and the Hollywood Bowl.

The exercise focused on the response of the specialized divisions of our police department to assess our readiness against rapid and emerging threats. These types of exercises allow us to critique and evaluate our abilities, training, and equipment to keep Los Angeles and its communities safe. We are appreciative of the continuous partnerships from our community and private sector stakeholders who supported the Los Angeles Police Department in this training.
