LA Kings fans are invited to stand along Figueroa Street from 5th Street to 11th Street to cheer on players and staff in their victory of the NHL Stanley Cup Championship for the first time in franchise history.
The parade will end and fans with tickets for the Staples Center Rally event scheduled later in the day may show their tickets and enter special viewing areas. No one without a ticket for the event will be allowed in these areas. It will be strictly enforced.
12:00 p.m. Official parade starts on Figueroa Street at 5th Street
12:30 p.m. Parade arrives at Figueroa Street at 11th Street and concludes
The media parking and staging area for the parade is designated on Chick Hearn Court on the north curb beginning at the NOKIA BOX OFFICE west to Georgia St. Each television station may park up to two microwave vans in the “normal” media parking area in Lot 1.
Absolutely no parking of media vehicles will be allowed on Figueroa Street or its paralleled sidewalks. Additionally, no parking of media vehicles will be allowed on the street or sidewalk east on 11th Street from Figueroa Street. All vehicles in violation of this will be advised to move and towed if necessary.
Absolutely, no random boarding of buses during the parade by anyone, including members of the news media.
Be guided by AEG’s Media Information Advisory for additional on Areas of Access on the parade route and at the Rally point. Remember, if your actions are contributing to a riotous crowd, you may be asked to leave the area until control is returned.
• Due to the limited public parking available in the area, we encourage all fans to utilize mass transit to attend the parade. Metropolitan Transit Authority runs buses to the area, and 7th Street/Figueroa Street. The light rail stations at Pico and Flower serve both the Blue and (new) Expo Lines and the 7th Street and Figueroa Street Metro Station located mid-way of the parade route.
• We expect hot weather for Thursday, so we encourage fans to come well hydrated and bring additional water for hydration to minimize medical assistance.
• Leave early and expect traffic delays in and around the affected area. Figueroa Street between
3rd Street and Pico Avenue will be closed intermittently while the parade runs south on Figueroa Street. Pedestrian access to cross Figueroa will be denied only when the parade is passing through. Please refer to the AEG press release for a comprehensive list of street closures.
• We have had some people unfortunately victimized by purchasing counterfeit tickets. We remind the public, do not purchase tickets from illegitimate sources, ie. scalpers.
