MAR 2008 TRAFFIC TRENDS

Year to date by Division (Jan through Mar 2008):

Total K T/Cs have gone down -42%.  The leading primary collision factor for T/Cs in OCB is 22350 VC (Unsafe Speed).    ** 32 of the 51 A/K Injury T/Cs (63%) were pedestrian related.  12 of the 51 were caused by 22350 VC.  Year to date A/K’s in OCB are down -4%.


CENTRAL:
Total T/Cs are down -2%.  “K” T/C’s are down -50%.  “A” T/Cs have gone up +40%.  Figueroa St / 6th St is the top problem intersection.  YTD, H&Rs represent 43% of all T/Cs.  Injury T/Cs represent 41% of all T/Cs.  DUIs are up 110%. 
**A/K’s in Central have remained the same.  Highest PCF is 22350 VC which accounted for 33% of A/K T/Cs. 
(YTD PED: 48 – 4 A’s, 1 K’s)


HOLLENBECK:
Total T/Cs are down -2%.  “K” T/C’s are down -100%.  “A” T/Cs remain the same.  Lorena St / Whittier Bl  is the top problem intersection.  YTD, H&Rs represent 51% of all T/Cs.  Injury T/Cs represent 37% of all T/Cs.  DUIs are up +39%.
**A/K’s in Hollenbeck have gone down -14%.  Highest PCF is 22801(a)VC, which accounted for 33% of A/K T/Cs. 
(YTD PED: 28 – 2 A’s, 0 K’s)


NEWTON:
Total T/Cs remain the same.  “K” T/C’s are up +100%.  “A” T/C’s are down -22%.  Broadway / Vernon Av  is the top problem intersection.  YTD, H&Rs represent 51% of all T/Cs.  Injury T/Cs represent 38% of all T/Cs.  DUIs are up 121%.
**A/Ks in Newton have decreased -10% YTD.  Highest PCF is 21954(a) VC, which accounted for 22% of A/K T/Cs.
(YTD PED:  42 – 4 A’s, 1 K’s)


NORTHEAST:
Total T/Cs are down -4%.  “K” T/C’s are down -100%.  “A” T/Cs are down -33%.  DUIs are up +21%.  The top problem intersection is Avenue 26 / Figueroa St.  YTD, H&Rs represent 55% of all T/Cs.  Injury T/Cs represent 36% of all T/Cs.
**A/Ks in Northeast have gone down -43% YTD.  Highest PCF is 22350 VC, which accounted for 50% of A/K T/C’s. 
(YTD PED:  46 – 5 A’s, 0 K’s)


RAMPART:
Total T/Cs are down -3%.  “K” T/C’s are down -25%.  “A” T/C’s are up +78%.   
Vermont Av / 3rd St is the top problem intersection.  H&Rs represent 54% of all T/Cs.  Injury T/Cs represent 39% of all T/Cs.  DUIs are up +62%.
**A/Ks in Rampart are up +46% YTD.  Highest PCF is 21950(a) VC, which accounted for 21% of A/K T/Cs.
