Victim Found Dead in 77th Area

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Thursday, December 31, 1998

On Tuesday evening, December 29,1998 at 6:23 p.m., Carlos Cavitt, a male Black of 19 years old, was discovered lying in the street, in front of his residence on the 200 Block of West 74th Street. An examination of the victim revealed multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. Los Angeles County Fire Department Paramedics were called to the scene and transported Cavitt to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.

No suspect(s) were seen and the motive for the crime is unknown.

South Bureau Homicide Detectives are conducting the investigation. Anyone with information concerning this incident is requested to call South Bureau Homicide at (213) 237-1310.
