ABC Shuts Down Los Angeles Bar

What:
The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), along with Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) will be revoking the liquor license of a bar with repeated violations of illegal solicitation of alcoholic beverages.

AND, the Department of ABC will be presenting an award to the LAPD for outstanding achievement in reducing alcohol related crime in the City of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan, Deputy Chief Martin Pomeroy, ABC Southern Division Assistant Director Ed Conner, ABC L.A./Metro District Administrator Jane McCabe, and others.

When:
Monday, December 14, 1998

Editors Note:
Following the posting of the revocation notice, ABC will make a presentation to the LAPD for its outstanding work in reducing alcohol related crime, and announce the third ABC GALE (Grant Assistance to Local Enforcement) grant to the LAPD. A news release will be issued with statistics showing the effectiveness of the LAPD GALE Program.
