Rampart Area Distributes X-mas Cheer during Their 8th Annual X-mas food and toybasket giveaway

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, December 22, 1998

On December 22, 1998, 9:30 am to 2:00 pm, Rampart Community Police Station, 2710 West Temple Street, Rampart Station is hosting its 8th annual Christmas Food and Toy Basket giveaway to benefit the needy families in the Rampart community.

Eight years ago Rampart Area officers saw the need to give some assistance and bring some smiles to local families who would not otherwise enjoy a Christmas like most of us. Officers set out to collect food and toys from businesses and residents in the community.

Throughout the year Rampart officers have identified needy families in the community and added their names to our ever-growing list. This year, thanks to generous donations from numerous corporations, organizations, community members, and police officers, we are able to provide over three-hundred needy families with a little Christmas cheer. Various members of our community along with officers will be present to help distribute the baskets.

For further information please contact Sergeant Perez at (213) 368-7671.
