South Bureau Homicide Requests Assistance in Solving a Murder that Took place atthe Nido Motel

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, December 22, 1998

On Sunday, December 20,1998 at approximately 6:20am, a stabbing occurred at the Nido Motel located at 8233 South Figueroa Street. The victim who is identified as Gregory Lee Johnson, a male, Black, 44 years of age, was stabbed by an individual who is identified as Lavelle Shontel Garrison, described as a male, Black, 29 Years of age. Garrison fled from the scene after the stabbing and is currently outstanding. Victim Johnson was transported to a local area hospital where he died as a result of the stab wounds.

Anyone with information concerning the Murder or the whereabouts of suspect Lavelle Shontel Garrison may contact Detective Dan Myers, South Bureau Homicide at (213) 237-1310.
