Missing Child Found in Southwest Area

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Thursday, December 31, 1998

On December 30, 1998 at approximately 1:40 A.M., a two-year old child, later identified as Christopher, was found at a residence on the 1100 block of West 40th Place. When the responding Officers were unable to locate the parents of the child, he was taken to the Southwest Police Station.

At approximately 3:30 A.M. a missing child report was received and the description of the child matched that of Christopher. The officers' investigation revealed that Rita Fitzpatrict, Christopher's aunt, was babysitting him. When Fitzpatrict had awakened, she observed the front door was open and Christopher was gone. According to Fitzpatrict, the locks to the door were broken and Christopher was able to exit the residence.

Christopher has been returned to his aunt and Fitzpatrict has agreed to repair the door locks.
