LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT

Metropolitan Division Officers Host Holiday Party for The Needy

Location of Event:
5516 S. Duarte Street

Date:
Wednesday, December 15, 1999

Time:
11:00 AM

For the past two years, Los Angeles Police Officers have joined with the Los Angeles Ministry Project (LAMP) of South Central Los Angeles in organizing a holiday toy give-away to needy children. The LAMP project provides childhood development programs to women with underprivileged children who live in the Newton Street Area. The event is held at the Juan Bosco Chapel near the Pueblo Del Rio housing project. This year Metropolitan Division "A" Platoon officers will be hosting the party including presents, moon bounce, food, and Santa for the children. In the past two years of providing these services to the community, both the officers and the participating families have been rewarded with enhanced community relations and are filled with the holiday spirit.

For further information please contact Sergeant Charles Buttitta, Los Angeles Police Department Metropolitan Division at 213-485-4091.
