LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Thursday, December 16, 1999

On Thursday, December 16, 1999, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, the Rampart-Police Activities League (PAL) Youth Center, 2228 West 6th Street, in MacArthur Park, will be hosting their third annual Toy and Food giveaway. Rampart Area officers and organizations such as Operation Children, Randal Foods Inc., C&F Foods Inc. and Befit Enterprises have generously volunteered to donate gifts for needy children from the Rampart Area.

The Rampart-PAL Youth Center has been in operation for three years and has recently move to 2228 West 6th Street, in MacArthur Park, to provide recreational and educational activities for local youth. The Rampart -PAL Youth Center is administered by a board consisting of local residents and businesses people. The youth activities are directed and supervised by LAPD officers.

The Rampart Area officers look forward to this event every year because it gives the officers the opportunity to bring some joy to the lives of children that might otherwise not have such an opportunity.

For further information please contact Sergeant Perez at 213-368-7671.
