Christmas Airlift '99
For the sixth consecutive year, police officers and civilian employees at the West Los Angeles Community Police Station are collecting toys, schools supplies, clothing and food for children in Mexicali, Mexico.
Police personnel are donating toys, school supplies, sports equipment, clothing and food for children from infants to twelve years of age.
On Saturday, December 18, 1999, a flight of twelve airplanes flown by off-duty police officers will airlift all the goods to Mexico. The aircraft will depart from Van Nuys Airport "Wescam Ramp" (Sherman Way/Hayvenhurst) at 9:30 AM. The pilots will fly 210 miles to Calexico Airport where the gifts will be received by the members of La Sagrada Familia Mission.
Donations from the community can be delivered to the West Los Angeles Community Police Station, located at 1663 Butler Avenue, West Los Angeles, by December 17, 1999.
