Pedestrian Killed by Hit and Run Driver

Valley Traffic Division is currently conducting an investigation into the hit and run fatality involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, which occurred on Saturday, December 18, 1999, at approximately 8:40 P.M., on DeSoto Avenue north of Chase Street. An unknown vehicle traveling northbound on DeSoto Avenue from Chase Street, struck Milton Augusto Lopez as he crossed the street. The vehicle continued northbound with Mr. Lopez attached to the front of the vehicle. The vehicle collided with a parked vehicle located on the east side of the street. Mr. Lopez was trapped between the two vehicles when the collision occurred. Mr. Lopez died at the scene of massive head injuries.
