"Public's Help Requested to Assist in Homicide Investigation"
Los Angeles - On Friday, December 8, 2000, at 10:00 a.m., Newton Division Homicide Detectives will hold a press conference at Newton Station to solicit the public's assistance in the homicide investigation of Mr. Earlee Dorn.
On November 28, 2000, at 3:42 p.m., officers responded to a radio call of a "Murder Investigation" in the rear alley at 1298 East Martin Luther King Boulevard, where they discovered the body of Earlee Dorn, a 41-year-old male, slumped between the seats of a U-Haul truck. Los Angeles City Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead. The victim had gun-shot wounds to the body.
The investigation revealed that Mr. Dorn was possibly killed on November 27, 2000, between 3:00 and 5:30 p.m., in the Newton area.
Mr. Dorn was in the business of selling custom chrome wheels and had many clients in the local area. Mr. Dorn sold his chrome rims from the rear of his truck. When officers found Mr. Dorn's body, there were several sets of chrome rims in the rear cargo space. The motive for this crime appears to be robbery. There are no suspects in custody.
Earlee Dorn was very familiar with the area and was well liked. His business allowed him to have a very close relationship with the community. Mr. Dorn was also a minister, youth counselor and a family man. Friends and members of Mr. Dom's family will be present at the press conference to request assistance from the community in this investigation.
