"Chief Parks Responds to Congressman Julian Dixon's Passing"

Los Angeles - Today, December 8, 2000, it was announced that Congressman Julian Dixon died of an apparent heart attack.

Los Angeles Police Department Chief Bernard C. Parks offered his condolences and stated "I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of United States Congressman Julian Dixon. Congressman Dixon was a good friend personally and a tremendous advocate for positive police and community relations. His wisdom and leadership will be missed by all. I offer my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones."
