"Burglary Suspect Shoots Victim"

Los Angeles- On Friday, December 15, 2000, at approximately 3:50 a.m., the victim, a 36 year old male Korean with wife and daughter residing in an apartment building in the 4400 Block of Wilshire boulevard were awoken by their dog barking. The victim went to investigate and confronted the suspect inside the apartment. The suspect brandished a handgun and shot the victim one time in the shoulder area. The suspect fired one more shot, missing the victim, as the victim retreated into his bedroom. The suspect made no demands for money and fled through the third story window from which he had entered. Two cellular phones were taken and the victim's wife and daughter were not harmed.

The suspect was wearing dark clothing and a ski mask and was only described as being a male, about 6 feet tall. The suspect gained entry to the victim's apartment by scaling the outside wall.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by paramedics where he is listed as being in stable condition.
