"Attempt Sexual Assault Investigation"

Wilmington - On Sunday, December 17, 2000, at approximately 4:30 p.m., an Africa-American male suspect entered the victim's residence in the 3000 block of North McDonald Street, through an unsecured bedroom window. The suspect confronted the victim in the kitchen and forcibly attempted to sexually assault her. The victim's husband heard the commotion, went to the kitchen and interrupted the suspect, who ran out the front door without completing the attack.

The suspect is described as a 25 to 30 year old African-American male with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weights approximately 160 pounds. A composite drawing of the suspect has been prepared and is available for the media at the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section, 150 North Los Angeles Street, Room 626, Los Angeles.

Detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division are conducting the investigation.
