Hollywood: On Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Hollywood Area Community Police Station police officers responded to a radio call of an "Assault with a Deadly Weapon" in the 6300 block of Selma Avenue. On arrival, the officers observed a male down on the sidewalk, the apparent victim of a stabbing. Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to Cedar Sinai Hospital where he failed to respond to emergency treatment and succumbed to his wounds.

Witnesses indicated that the victim had been involved in a minor altercation with another man inside a local nightclub. The altercation was taken outside the club where sometime during the fight, the victim sustained several stab wounds.

The suspect was described as a male Caucasian, between 6’0" and 6’01" tall, 180 pounds, with a shaved head and multiple tattoos on both arms. The suspect was seen leaving the area in an unknown make and model white vehicle.

The victim has been identified as Peter Matthew Weckwerth, 31 years of age, a resident of Woodland Hills.
