Mysterious Shooting Death in Rampart

 

Los Angeles: Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of Jaime Uraga, a male, Hispanic approximately 19 years of age of Los Angeles.

On Saturday, December 22, 2001, at approximately 4:44 p.m., Rampart Patrol Officers responded to a "shots fired" call at 729 South Bonnie Brae Street. Upon arrival, the officers observed Jaime Uraga down inside of his apartment. Uraga had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced Uraga dead.

The investigation revealed that witnesses heard gunshots, entered the victim's room and found him on the floor. The suspect(s) and the weapon are outstanding. The motive for the shooting is unknown.
