Man Killed in Subterranean Garage

 

 

 

Los Angeles - - Rampart Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of Rene Orellana a male, Hispanic approximately 48 years of age.

On December 8, 2002 at approximately 4:00 a.m., Orellana went down to the subterranean garage in his apartment building located in the 500 block of North Kenmore so he could move his vehicle. A few minutes later witnesses heard an audible alarm of a vehicle activated. The witnesses went to the garage to investigate when they observed the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead. The motive for this crime is unknown at this time. There were no suspects heard or seen at the time of the shooting.

The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking assistance from the community, asking witnesses to contact Rampart Homicide Detectives, L. Velasco or J. Breuer at 213-207-2051 during daytime hours. On weekends or after hours, contact the toll free 24-hour number at the Detective Information Desk at
