Man Shot and Killed, Detectives Seek Clues

"Man Shot and Killed, Detectives Seek Clues"

Los Angeles: On Saturday, December 27, 2003, at about 9:30 p.m., Officers Jeromy Pachiorkowski and George Gallegos were working in the area of Mc Farland Avenue and Denni Street. Their attention was drawn when they observed two male Hispanic suspects shooting at a pedestrian. The officers exited their vehicle and identified themselves as the suspects continued shooting at the victim. One of the suspects turned and pointed his handgun at the officers, at which time Officer Pachiorkowski, in fear of his life, fired at the suspects. The suspects fled the location in a waiting vehicle described as a small dark colored compact car. The officers approached the victim, Antonio Perez, 20 years of age, to render aid and requested an ambulance. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced Mr. Perez dead at the scene. The suspects are still at large.

The motive for this crime is unknown.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Robbery Homicide Detectives at 213-485-2129. On weekends and during off-hours, please call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk, at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
