Burglary Suspect Killed While Running from Police

"35 Year-old Man Killed in San Pedro"

 

Los Angeles: On December 27, 2004, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Harbor Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 500 block of West 3 rd Street. Upon arrival, the officers located the victim, 35 year-old Alberto Encinas, a resident of San Pedro, in a black compact vehicle with gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The officers' investigation revealed that a male Hispanic suspect, approximately 20 years of age, drove up in a green Toyota Camry and stopped next to the victim's vehicle. The suspect fired several rounds into the victim's vehicle with an unknown type of handgun. The suspect then fled the location.
