Child Abduction Regional Emergency Alert Issued in South LA

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting that the media provide the public with the following information of a two-year-old girl who had been abducted by her grandmother.

On December 21, 2005, at about 11:15 AM, Southeast Detectives were notified by a representative from the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) that the grandmother had contacted them and said she was in Florida with her granddaughter and that her granddaughter was fine.

The grandmother, Nevorria McKetty, was given a temporary custody of Karra Wilson, by the DCFS due to Karra's mother being incarcerated. A DCFS representative conducted a monthly check on Karra on December 12, 2005, at McKetty's residence, located in the 500 block of 108th Street and found McKetty had moved out, in violation of conditions and guidelines of the DCFS.

Karra is an African-American with black hair, brown eyes, two feet tall and weighs about 40 pounds. McKetty is 57 years old and has black hair, brown eyes, 5'5", 130 lbs.

Anyone with information of the missing girls is asked to contact Southeast Area Police Station Detectives at 213-972-7828. On weekends and during off-hours, call 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
