WHY:
One-hundred and twelve motorists were either severely killed or injured in DUI related traffic collisions in the City of Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Officers arrested 10,293 intoxicated drivers in 2006. There were 1,124 DUI related traffic collisions.
This New Year’s weekend there will be a "Zero Tolerance" posture towards intoxicated drivers and traffic collisions. The Los Angeles Police Department wants everyone to celebrate this New Year’s weekend responsibly.
