LAPD Robbery-Homicide detectives along with Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau have been investigating the case.

Deputy Escalante was assigned to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Mens’ Central jail.  He was very close to his three young children and served in the United States Army Reserve.
