Man Found Stabbed to Death in Harbor Area NR10578cj

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police department (LAPD) Harbor Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of a suspect(s) who murdered an 18-year-old Los Angeles resident.

On Dec. 13, 2010, at around 5:55 a.m., LAPD Harbor area patrol officers received a call of a stabbing on the 21400 block of Halldale Road.  When the officers arrived at the scene, they saw an unresponsive man lying on the ground, apparently suffering from stab wounds to his upper torso.

Los Angeles fire department personnel responded and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The victim was identified as an 18-year-old Hispanic man named Race Uyeki.

Harbor detectives believe that an unknown suspect(s) stabbed the victim numerous times and left the scene.  The suspects have not been identified and no weapons have been recovered.  The motive for this crime is unknown.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Harbor area Officers Fernando Rivas or Eddie Yoon at 310-726-7882.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
