Fundraiser for Cancer-Stricken Officer’s Daughter; Victim is Only 10 Years Old NR12553LG

December 5, 2012

Los Angeles:  A partnership between the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Hermosa Beach Police Department (HBPD) has been formed to help raise funds for a child’s desperate fight against cancer.

Jasmine Faulk, the daughter of an HBPD Officer, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and is courageously beginning her road to recovery.  Over the next year, she will receive several costly and debilitating chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

To help Jasmine and her family cope with her ordeal, the LAPD Olympic Area station (1130 South Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles 90006) will host a fundraising barbeque lunch today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. featuring chicken or steak taco plates for $7 each.  Pre-sale tickets are also available at the Olympic Area Community Relations Office (CRO).  Those unable to attend may also contribute to this worthy cause by making a much-appreciated donation at the Olympic Area CRO, with checks made payable to Jasmine Faulk.
