Why: LAPD Olympic Area and OBA present “Operation Shoes from Santa,” a holiday shoe drive for many underprivileged families in the community. “Helping Kids one pair of shoes at a time” is how officers from the Olympic Area view it, as they launch their annual shoe give away which will take place December 15th, 2016, at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Olympic Area police station. LAPD Personnel turn the police station into a winter wonderland with real snow for the children to play in. Santa’s Workshop will be up and running and visitors will be treated to hot cocoa and cookies. Santa and his elves will be on hand to give out brand new shoes and treats. Join us as police officers distribute more than 1,500 pairs of new shoes to pre-selected school-aged children from our community.
